Peppa Pig (sometimes referred to simply as Peppa) is an British-Irish-American animated television series that is created by Neville Astley, Mark Baker, and Phil Davies for Nickelodeon. It is produced primarily by Astley Baker Davies. On May 31, 2004, a sneak preview of the episode "Muddy Puddles" was shown after a new episode of SpongeBob SquarePants. It officially premiered on June 1, 2004, with the episodes "Mr. Dinosaur is Lost" and "Muddy Puddles." According to the Nickelodeon website, Peppa Pig is one of the most popular shows on the channel, along with SpongeBob SquarePants, Fanboy and Chum-Chum, and Victorious.
The series revolves around the life of Peppa Pig, a 6 year old pig who attends preschool in Peppaland. Accompanied by her sidekick, brother, and best friend George, she frequently finds herself involved in various shenanigans around the city, during which she interacts with various family members-Darwin, Mummy Pig, and Daddy Pig-and other various citizens.
